Adult ECMO Management Training Course

February 18th-20th, 2021

ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) is a complex and intensive mechanical therapy offered to patients with cardio-respiratory failure. This intense three-day virtual didactic course has been designed to train multidisciplinary (MD, RN, CCP, RT) healthcare professionals to care for adult patients with severe respiratory and/or cardiac failure requiring ECMO support.  All elements of veno-venous (VV) and veno-arterial (VA) ECMO support will be considered and reviewed.  Similar to the amazing benefits experienced at our recent Annual Meeting, learners will have an incredibly unique experience of learning from global ECMO experts the basics of ECMO patient management. This course is appropriate for the entire ECMO team: physicians, nurses, perfusionists, respiratory therapists.

The course content includes indications and contraindications, cannulation techniques, initiation of support, patient and circuit physiology of ECMO, programmatic design and management, and all aspects of patient management and decision making for patients on ECMO.

The course is appropriate for centers setting up new programs, existing centers expanding into adult services, and centers that would benefit from the multidisciplinary approach and global knowledge that ELSO provides. The cost for this course is $1500.00.  For additional information email: ecmotraining@elso.org
