ELSO recently published the 6th Edition of the Red Book – the global academic standard in ECLS textbooks.
ELSO currently offers individual practitioner certification for adult practitioners in the ELSO Adult ECMO Certificate (E-AEC). The Neo-Peds Certification program is coming soon. Center Certification will be available in 2025. For details on the E-AEC, please click here.
NOTE: Only courses that have been endorsed by ELSO or are offered by ELSO can claim that they meet ELSO criteria which satisfies the E-AEC requirements. The ELSO Registry provides data to advance knowledge through research initiatives and to improve the quality of care at member centers through quality benchmarking.” Data requests for research studies can be made by emailing: ELSODataRequest@elso.org
Data submitted by ELSO Member Centers to the ELSO Registry are a limited data set that includes some identifiable information, which is then de-identified in how data is released for investigative purposes.

Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) clinicians, research scientists, and members of regulatory and public health institutions are eligible for membership in ELSO.
We currently have over 20,000 users, with ~750 center members from 60+ countries. Membership allows physicians, nurses, perfusionists, respiratory therapists, researchers, engineers, and other healthcare professionals to become more directly involved in the world’s largest ECMO community..
